On Friday, 3rd May, 2024, the Ashanti Regional Qaid and Mu'tamad in the persons of Mr. Al-hassan Ofori and Master lshmael Owusu Ntiamoah respectively participated in an inter Religious Dialogue organized by the National Catholic Secretariat, Ghana. The Aim of the program was to figure out how and to what extent religious bodies can work together to bring about desirable social change through inter - faith dialogue and cooperation among the three major religions in Africa, i.e. Islam, Christianity and Traditional religion.

A total of 49 members participated.

The purpose of the meeting was to explore the possibility of facilitating cooperation across religious lines, around issues of common concern rather than simply acknowledging the difficulty of doing so on grounds of perceived or real non-negotiability of religions.

The lecture was led by Sheikh Dr. Al-Hussein Zakaria, who is a member of the Northern Regional Peace Council and the Chairman of the Inter - Religious Dialogue, Tamale. He is also the Head of the Quran Mosque in Tamale.  Some of the topics discussed were; lnter-religious dialogue - conceptual analysis, theological foundations of dialogue, dialogue from lslamic perspective and dialogue from the perspective of African Traditional Religion.
