In a remarkable initiative towards environmental conservation, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Male Students Association of Ghana (AMMSAG-KNUST), in collaboration with the Forestry Commission of Ghana, organized a tree planting exercise at Ahomaso, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

The exercise which was held on Friday, June 9, 2023, with the aim of promoting a greener Ghana, saw enthusiastic participation from both AMMSAG and Ahmadiyya Muslim Women Students Association of Ghana (AMWSAG), community members, and representatives from the Forestry Commission.

The AMMSAG-KNUST President, Mr. Hamza Saeed, stressed that the Association decided to participate in the tree planting exercise because of the increasing concerns about deforestation and climate change.

He said the collaboration with the Forestry Commission of Ghana provided a valuable opportunity to contribute to the national "Green Ghana" initiative, which aimed at restoring and preserving Ghana's forest cover.

Government officials and representatives from environmental organizations participated in the event.

The personalities took turns to deliver speeches to emphasize the importance of tree planting in mitigating climate change, preserving biodiversity, and ensuring a sustainable future.

With a collective effort, the participants passionately dug holes, planted saplings, and carefully nurtured them with soil and water.

In all, over 1000 saplings were planted.
