Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya (MKA) Eastern Region successfully organized its 21st Annual Ijtema’a from May 31 to June 1, 2025, in Nkawkaw. The event brought together young Ahmadi Muslims from across the region to focus on spiritual development, moral training, and community service.
Ijtema’a Highlights
The two-day gathering featured a blend of spiritual, educational, and recreational activities aimed at fostering holistic development in the youth. These included academic and sports competitions, a regional cleaning exercise (Waqare Amal), a group excursion, and a final session with the presence of Sadr Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya Ghana and distinguished members of the National Aamila.
As part of the program, participants embarked on an excursion to the Kwahu Mountains, visiting the paragliding site at Odweanoma Mountain—a renowned tourist attraction offering panoramic views—and the Rock City Hotel, a leading hospitality destination known for its modern facilities. The trip provided an opportunity for relaxation, bonding, and exposure to Ghana’s tourism heritage.
Waqare Amal – Serving the Community
A major service highlight of the Ijtema’a was the Waqare Amal (community cleaning exercise), conducted at the Kwahu West Municipal Assembly on the morning of June 1, 2025. This initiative reflected the Khuddam’s active commitment to cleanliness, civic responsibility, and national development.
Final Session – Messages of Inspiration
Welcome Address by Regional Qaid
The Regional Qaid, Mr. Harun Atta Ansong Hussain, warmly welcomed participants and dignitaries, thanking Allah for His blessings and guidance. In his remarks, he highlighted the region’s recent accomplishments:
He acknowledged the challenges faced, including financial limitations and low participation from some members, but emphasized the region’s determination to grow stronger. He expressed gratitude to the Ansarullah, Lajna Imaillah, and dedicated Khuddam for their support.
He also urged all Qaideen to work closely with missionaries in strengthening Talim (Islamic knowledge) and Tarbiyyat (moral training) among Atfal and Khuddam. He concluded by reminding members of the importance of reflecting divine attributes and committing to the service of humanity.
Keynote Address by Regional President
The keynote address was delivered by Mr. Abdul Noor Wahab, Regional President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission. He emphasized the two fundamental duties of every Muslim: the responsibility to Allah and the responsibility to His creation.
He urged all Khuddam to offer their Salat (prayers) on time and with devotion, discouraging the habit of combining prayers, as it often leads to missing the Sunnah prayers that help perfect one’s worship. He highlighted the Holy Prophet Muhammad’s (peace be upon him) emphasis on congregational prayer, particularly Fajr, and noted that even the Prophet, despite his merciful nature, took absenteeism from congregational prayers very seriously.
He reminded attendees that Salat will be the first act judged on the Day of Resurrection and encouraged all to make it a priority in their lives.
Special Guest of Honour – Hon. Tamimu Halidu
The event was honoured by the presence of Hon. Tamimu Halidu, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Nkawkaw. He expressed his admiration for the efforts of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in the areas of education, healthcare, and infrastructure. As a fellow Muslim, he pledged to support the Khuddam and the Jama’at in any way possible.
He commended the Khuddam for organizing the Waqare Amal and made a personal donation to support the success of the Ijtema’a.
Closing Remarks by Sadr Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya Ghana
In his closing remarks, the Sadr Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya Ghana commended the Eastern Region for organizing a successful Ijtema’a and encouraged all members to remain dedicated to the work of the Majlis. He urged every Atfal and Khadim to make it a point to attend the upcoming National Ijtema’a in the Upper West Region, expressing hope for a strong turnout from the Eastern Region.
Participation and Outlook
The Ijtema’a recorded an enthusiastic turnout of 205 participants—comprising 121 Atfal and 84 Khuddam—alongside over 50 invited guests and volunteers who came to show support and solidarity in various capacities. The Eastern Region looks forward to making the Annual Ijtema’a a continuous tradition aimed at building spiritually conscious, morally upright, and service-driven youth.
May Allah bless and reward all participants and supporters.
