Members got seated by 11:00am and the program commenced with a recitation of a portion from the Holy Qur’an by Muallim Ishmael sahib.

A melodious rendition of Qasida was given by Muallim Abdullah Kyei.

The chairman for the program; Mr. Suleiman Ankam gave a brief opening address. He touched on both the political and religious setting of the Volta Zone and welcomed all guests especially the national officers.

An opening prayer was led by Maulvi Abdul Rahman Yahya which paved way for the Khuddam pledge, led by Mr. Irfan Eesah Hamond.

Self introduction was done by all members, and it was time for the outgone Qaid to give his address. In his speech, Mr. Abdul Salam Inkoom gave a brief autobiography and a short history of the Volta majlis; touching on the hurdles the Majlis had to go over, progressing leaps and bounds till where we find ourselves today. No sentence could end without tears snaking down his cheeks as well as many of the members present. He ended his speech with profound appreciation to Almighty Allah and the entire Majlis Khuddam Ahmadiyya Ghana, especially the patrons of the Volta Zone. He followed his speech with the handing over; transferring his rank and peps to Mr. Dika Yakubu. He also handed to him all documents and awards. The atmosphere at this moment was full of sorrow. Songs of praise and takbirat were raised alongside until the moment was over and they resumed their seats.

It was time for the new Qaid; Mr. Dika Yakubu to give his address.

During his short speech he urged members to show utmost dedication to the Majlis. He stated that our outgone Qaid has raised the bar of the Volta Majlis very high and so he pleads with members to give him their maximum support in order to maintain the stance of the Ilaqa or even do better. He ended his speech with profound appreciation to Allah Almighty and also thanked all members for coming.

The guest of honor; Mr. Mustafa Kofi Amissah had the floor to address the members. During his speech, he touched on the need for Ahmadi youth to remain peaceful before, during and after the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections. He drew our attention to the fact that none of our neighboring countries is conducive enough for refuge should violence ensue in Ghana. He ended his speech assuring the Qaid and the members that should we be in any need, he is just a call away to give us all the assistance.

Fraternal messages were given by a couple of members who all assured the new administration of their support. The Naib Sadr Southeast; Mr. Irfan Eesah Hamond stated that, we are in a very crucial time where we need all members on board to offer sacrifices for the Majlis. He advice that we should try and establish contact with one another to rope in inactive members gradually. He added that we should remember ourselves in prayer and also pray for our Sadr Mulk. He concluded by saying that our little sacrifices are needed now than any other time, because the time is surely coming when we might wish to present a bottle of water as sacrifice during jamat functions and we will be told to take it back for a fully loaded truck is on the way to supply us with water. That time will be when extremely rich individuals will have accepted the Promised Messiah and will be more than ready to supply the jamat with every need beyond measure.

His speech was followed by presentation of a system unit as a gift from the national office of Ta’lim to the volta Majlis. This was given to aid the work of the office of Ta’lim in the zone. It was presented to us by the Naib Sadr Southeast.

Presentation of citation followed. Mr. Abubakar Alidu Sadick received a citation for being the longest serving Nazim Waqar-e-Amal. Migrating to Ansar he was given four yards of white fabric and an amount of 200.00 cedis to sow his Ansarullah dress. The outgone Qaid Ilaqa was also given a befitting citation. Our guest of honor also received a befitting citation in addition to a nice smock and hut. All three awardees were short of words to convey their extreme excitement and gratitude to the members.

The program was climaxed by closing remarks from the chairman; Mr. Suleiman Ankam. He spoke on many things and finally drew the attention of members to what was said earlier by the naib Sadr Southeast, that, we should join to carry the load while it is still heavy, for a time is coming when the burden will be lightened and our tiny sacrifices will not be needed. He ended with thanksgiving to all members.

Closing prayer was said by our revered Maulvi Abdul Rahman Yahya and the program ended at about 4:00pm.

We had lunch, and for the sake of time members said their Zuhr and Asr prayers on their journeys back home.

Alhamdulillah
