MAJLIS KHUDDAM-UL-AHMADIYYA KOFORIDUA ZONE

On December 25, 2024, Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya (MKA) Koforidua Zone actively participated in a nationwide health walk and screening event at Ettorkrom. The program, which aimed to promote health, wellness, and community engagement, commenced at 7:45 AM with an impressive turnout of 48 members, comprising 21 Khuddam and 27 Atfal.

The walk, which took participants on a scenic route from Ettorkrom Central Mosque to Bunso, served as both a physical fitness exercise and an opportunity for brotherhood. Along the way, members engaged in light-hearted conversations, chants, and recitations, reinforcing the spirit of unity and devotion within the community.

Engaging Activities and Thought-Provoking Talks

The event featured a series of enlightening discussions and interactive sessions, beginning with a health talk delivered by Nazim Sihate Jismane, Mustapha Sadiq. He emphasized the importance of a healthy lifestyle, urging members to prioritize fitness, balanced nutrition, and regular medical checkups to maintain optimal well-being.

Following this, Mualim Suleman Koranteng, Kibi Circuit Missionary, delivered an inspirational address on the significance of financial responsibility among the youth. He encouraged Khuddam to utilize their youthful energy productively, seek meaningful employment, and work diligently towards financial independence. He warned that failure to secure financial stability in youth could lead to struggles in old age, especially when physical strength declines and work opportunities become scarce.

In a related address, Qaid Ilaqa-Eastern, Harun Atta Ansong Hussain, emphasized the need for active participation in Jama’at activities. He urged both Atfal and Khuddam to take an active role in the various religious and social programs organized by the community, reinforcing that engagement in Jama’at activities nurtures faith, discipline, and a sense of purpose.

Additionally, Maulvi Aayatur-Rahman Abdullah, Zonal Missionary of Koforidua Zone, provided a comprehensive overview of the hierarchical structure and responsibilities within Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya (MKA). He elaborated on how each rank and leadership position functions to ensure efficiency and progress, instilling in members a better understanding of their roles and responsibilities.

The Importance of Quranic Knowledge – A Message from Atfal Nazim, Ahmed Oware

Atfal Nazim, Ahmed Oware, took the opportunity to stress the significance of Quranic knowledge for Atfal. He emphasized that learning, mastering, and correctly reciting the Quran is an essential duty for every Muslim, as it forms the foundation of spiritual growth and religious education.

Sharing a personal anecdote, he recounted his experience upon arriving at the Suhum Circuit, where, instead of being asked about his academic qualifications, he was questioned about his ability to read the Quran. This, he explained, highlights the immense value placed on Quranic literacy within the community.

Quoting a Hadith of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), he reminded the attendees that seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim, male and female. He encouraged the youth to take Quranic education seriously, strive for excellence in recitation, and cultivate a habit of regular study and reflection on its teachings.

Islamic Perspective on Christmas – Clarifications by Maulvi Aayatur-Rahman Abdullah

A critical aspect of the event was a brief but insightful session led by Maulvi Aayatur-Rahman Abdullah, where he addressed the Islamic perspective on Christmas celebrations.

He explained that historical records and climatic conditions suggest that Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) was not born on December 25. He emphasized that the cold weather conditions recorded during that time contradict the claim of Jesus' birth occurring in December.

He further elaborated that, since Islam does not recognize December 25 as the actual birthdate of Jesus (peace be upon him), Muslims do not partake in Christmas celebrations. Instead, Muslims honor and revere Jesus (peace be upon him) in accordance with Islamic teachings, acknowledging him as a noble prophet and servant of Allah.

Sports and Recreation – Strengthening Bonds Through Games

Following the educational and reflective sessions, the event transitioned into a fun-filled recreational phase.

A highly anticipated Atfal football match took center stage, drawing excitement and support from attendees. The Koforidua Zone team emerged victorious, clinching a 4-3 win against the Pentecost Church Boys in a thrilling match that showcased teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship.

Beyond football, Khuddam members engaged in friendly games of Ludo and cards, providing a relaxed yet competitive atmosphere where participants could bond, interact, and unwind.
