On December 25, 2024, Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya (MKA) Koforidua Zone participated in a nationwide health walk and screening event at Ettorkrom. The event, which started with an arrival time of 7:45 am, saw 48 members, comprising 21 Khuddam and 27 Atfal, embark on a scenic walk from Ettorkrom Central Mosque to Bunso.
The event featured a range of exciting activities, including a health talk delivered by Nazim Sihat-e-Jismane, Mr. Mustapha Sadiq. Muallim Suleman Koranteng, Kibi Circuit Missionary, stressed the importance of utilizing one's youthful energy to secure a stable financial future. He encouraged the youth to find employment and work diligently, cautioning that failure to do so may result in financial struggles in old age, when physical limitations may impede one's ability to work.
Qaid Ilaqa-Eastern, Harun Atta Ansong Hussain, emphasized the significance of active participation in Jama'at activities among the Atfal and Khuddam present. Maulvi Aayatur-Rahman Abdullah, Zonal Missionary of Koforidua Zone, elaborated on the hierarchical structure and responsibilities within MKA.
The Atfal Nazim underscored the significance of Atfal members learning the Quran, emphasizing that mastering its recitation is crucial. He encouraged members to strive for perfection in their Quranic recitation, enabling them to read independently.
Sharing a personal anecdote, the Atfal Nazim recounted his experience upon arriving at the Suhum Circuit, where instead of being asked about his qualifications, he was asked if he knew how to read the Quran. This, he said, highlights the importance of Quranic knowledge.
The Atfal Nazim also quoted a Hadith of the Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him), which emphasizes the importance of seeking knowledge for both men and women. He stressed that acquiring knowledge, particularly Quranic knowledge, is a vital aspect of personal development and spiritual growth.
Maulvi Aayatur-Rahman Abdullah also provided insight into why Muslims do not celebrate Christmas. He explained that historical records indicate that Jesus Christ was not born on December 25, citing the cold weather conditions during that time. He emphasized that Muslims do not accept this date as Jesus' birthday and therefore do not participate in Christmas celebrations.
The event also featured an Atfal football match, which saw the Koforidua Zone team emerge victorious with a 4-3 win against the Pentecost Church Boys. The Khuddam members enjoyed friendly games of Ludo and cards.
The event was attended by esteemed guests, including:
Alhamdulillah, the event was a resounding success, promoting healthy living, community engagement, and teamwork among the members of MKA Koforidua Zone.
