Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya Twifo Praso Participates in National Sanitation Day

As part of the nationwide National Sanitation Day exercise, nine members of Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya in Twifo Praso, located in the Central Region of Ghana, undertook a voluntary clean-up of the town’s main commercial area, popularly known as the New Market.

The activity, which aimed at promoting cleanliness and public health, saw the Khuddam sweeping the entire market area, collecting litter, and raising awareness on the importance of environmental hygiene. Their initiative was warmly welcomed by market traders and residents, who praised the group’s spirit of service and discipline.

The clean-up exercise was led by the Zonal Missionary, Maulvi Abdul Matin Yeboah Brobey, and the Zonal Qaid, Mr. Abdul Ghaffar Amosah-Mensah, who both encouraged the youth to serve their communities with dedication and humility.

This noble gesture is in line with Islamic teachings, which emphasize cleanliness and community service. The Holy Qur’an states:

“Indeed, Allah loves those who turn to Him constantly and He loves those who keep themselves pure and clean.” (Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:222)

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) also said:

“Cleanliness is half of faith.” (Sahih Muslim)

Echoing this, the Promised Messiah and Mahdi, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as), the founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, taught:

“Service to humanity is a form of worship. Cleanliness and caring for others are signs of a true believer.”

This exercise not only improved the hygiene of the market but also demonstrated the Khuddam’s commitment to the Jama’at’s motto of “Love for All, Hatred for None.” The group expressed their readiness to continue participating in such exercises, promoting cleanliness and reflecting the peaceful and service-oriented values of Islam.
