OFORIKROM ZONE USHERS IN THE NEW YEAR WITH ACTS OF FAITH AND SERVICE

“The majesty of a true believer is not only to express despair over worldly activities but also to conduct a self-audit and evaluate the year that has passed. What have we earned and lost through this year? Will the true believer evaluate the year through a worldly lens, or will it be through a religious and spiritual perspective?”

These profound words of Hazrat Khalifatul Masih V (aba) were delivered during his Friday sermon on December 30, 2016, guiding Muslims on the Islamic way of observing the New Year. Inspired by this message, the Oforikrom Zone of Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya Ghana began the New Year with a series of meaningful and spiritually uplifting activities.

TAHAJJUD PRAYERS

Members of the Majlis commenced the New Year by participating in a nationwide Tahajjud prayer. This collective effort was a reminder of the spiritual focus and self-reflection that marks the life of an Ahmadi Muslim.

WAQAR-E-AMAL

The Majlis Khuddam organized a Waqar-e-Amal (dignity of labour) at the Anwiam Hospital near Afful Nkwanta, located within the Oforikrom Zone. The effort exemplified the Islamic teachings of selfless service and care for the community.

In addition to the cleanup, the group donated copies of The Review of Religions, a renowned Islamic magazine, to the hospital. To further spread the message of Islam Ahmadiyya, members also distributed leaflets to the general public.

DONATION TO THE KUMASI CHILDREN’S HOME

Members of Atfal played their part by making a heartfelt donation to the Kumasi Children’s Home, also located in the Oforikrom Zone. Their participation highlighted the importance of instilling values of compassion and service in the younger generation.

BREAKFAST, LUNCH AND GAMES

Members of the Majlis gathered at the Oforikrom Mosque to share meals, enjoying both breakfast and lunch as a community. The day also included indoor and board games, fostering camaraderie and unity among the participants.

By aligning their New Year celebrations with spiritual reflection and community service, the Oforikrom Zone of Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya Ghana set a meaningful example for others to follow. This example reflects the guidance of Hazrat Khalifatul Masih V (aba).
