Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya Nigeria held its 51st Annual National Ijtema’a at Ede, Osun State, from the 17th to the 20th of April 2025. Ghana was ably represented by a humble yet dignified delegation led by Sadr Majlis Khuddam ul Ahmadiyya Ghana, Mr. Ahmed Kobina Benyarko, accompanied by Alhaj Ahmed Kwaku Mensah, Additional Muhtamim Umumi; Mahdi Sentor, Jama’at Qaid for Central Province, Kasoa; and Mohammed Manu, Circuit Qaid for Atonsu.
The Spiritual Journey Begins
Our journey began in the early hours of Thursday, 17th April, at 4:00 a.m., when the Ghanaian delegation departed for Nigeria. Upon crossing the border, our Ahmadi brothers in Nigeria warmly welcomed us and had already made vehicular arrangements to transport us to the National Headquarters in Lagos.
From Lagos, we proceeded to the Ijtema’a grounds, where we were received with genuine love, heartfelt brotherhood, and warm hospitality. The environment was spiritually charged, and the joy on the faces of participants made it immediately clear that this was more than an event—it was an international gathering of unified souls under Khilafat.
An Ijtema’a of Spiritual Refinement
The Ijtema’a itself was a masterclass in discipline, structure, and spiritual upliftment. Each day commenced with Tahajjud prayers in congregation, setting the tone for a day of both spiritual and intellectual enrichment.
A standout feature of this Ijtema’a was the remarkable level of Qur’anic recitation. The soothing and melodious tilawat from various Huffaz graced the mornings, bringing about an atmosphere reminiscent of paradise. It felt as if every Khadim was a Haafiz, such was the quality and depth of their recitation.
After these recitations, there were Dars sessions on a wide array of topics, addressing moral reformation, service to humanity, and loyalty to Khilafat. These spiritually charged talks not only educated but also moved hearts, leaving attendees inspired to live as better Ahmadi Muslims.
Following the Dars, Fajr prayers were observed in congregation, after which the day’s activities would unfold—academic competitions, Qur’an memorisation, speeches, and indoor games, all running concurrently. Every Khadim and Atfal had something meaningful to participate in or benefit from.
One element particularly worth highlighting for Majalis around the globe is the parade and route march organised by MKAN. It was executed with military-level precision, unity, and enthusiasm. Their discipline is commendable and offers a model to be studied and adopted by other Majalis worldwide.
Final Session: Unity, Strength, and Display of Talent
The final session of the Ijtema’a was both a celebration of unity and a demonstration of excellence. Delegations from across the African continent were present, reinforcing the global brotherhood of Khuddam ul Ahmadiyya. The program featured a captivating Taekwondo display by black belt Khuddam, many of whom had been trained under the Majlis Taekwondo Association of Nigeria.
The session was also enriched with faith-inspiring speeches, filled with insight, motivation, and deep reflection. The hall was electric—hearts were moved, and spirits were lifted. Alhamdulillah, the Ijtema’a concluded successfully, leaving an indelible mark on all attendees.
Post-Ijtema Tour: Education, Bonding, and Reflection
After the Ijtema’a, the Ghanaian delegation was taken on a tour to Minaret International University—a symbol of Islamic excellence and educational ambition. The tour opened our eyes to the intellectual efforts being made by the Jama’at in Nigeria.
Additionally, the delegation had the privilege of sitting in exclusive sessions with MKAN members from Benin, Togo, Ivory Coast, and other neighbouring countries. These informal discussions under the umbrella of Khilafat were enriching and unifying.
We were also given the chance to meet senior missionaries, visit administrative offices, and exchange experiences with some of the more seasoned members of the Nigeria Majlis, whose dedication continues to inspire.
A Grateful Heart
The Ghanaian delegation is profoundly grateful to the Sadr Majlis of Nigeria and its dedicated Aamila. Their hospitality, attention to detail, and spiritual sincerity ensured that our stay was comfortable, meaningful, and spiritually uplifting.
Our participation in the MKAN Ijtema’a 2025 is a chapter that will forever remain etched in our hearts. It reinforced the spirit of international brotherhood, service, and unity that defines Majlis Khuddam ul Ahmadiyya. We return with renewed zeal, inspired faith, and a commitment to implement the best of what we witnessed back home.
Alhamdulillah.
May Allah the Almighty continue to strengthen the bond of brotherhood among Khuddam across the globe and enable us to preserve and act upon the spiritual lessons gained from this Ijtema’a. May the blessings of this experience remain with us as a source of guidance, unity, and inspiration for generations to come. Ameen.
